Water E.P. – Kiz Pattison
Kristian ‘Kiz’ Pattison returns in welcomed arms, re-kindling bTechNoir with a two track EP showcasing his outstanding dark and dirty signature sound.
We begin with Drips, my favorite of the new property, which is laced proper with a deep heavy bassline and techno style beats that building up nicely to a dirty swirly synth section that is reminiscent of the blockbuster film Terminator.
Coming out of the mid-section we transition to a slight breaks windup before returning to its original stature making way for a mix friendly transition. It’s very effective and will certainly find its way into sets
Drops is another techno affair consisting of similar sounding elements as Drips but has that luring bassline which sucks you in as the build of crisp hats and other swirly synths & unobjectionable stabs cascade in throughout. The peppered percussion and what sound like vocal snipits are what give it that final touch. I’m honestly finding it more difficult to side with one particular track here.
