Biography
Over the last 20 years, under his pseudonyms such as Acid Rockers, Cygnus Loop & Quark, Matt Buggins has released music on legendary house & techno labels Skint, R&S & Music Man. Original productions have featured on Golden Globe & Emmy Award winning TV shows and chart topping video games. His 2001 album under his Acid Rockers guise, “Mind Set” received critical acclaim, fusing techno, psy trance and a whole world of other influences.
From 1994 – 2003, George Thompson was the resident DJ at legendary club night “Feel”, playing weekly alongside such luminaries as John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas & Paul van Dyk. From 1999 – 2003 he ran progressive house label Pacifica Recordings, an outlet for recordings with then production partner Christian West. Releases featured on compilations across the globe, including numerous Global Underground compilations & Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise series.
Matt & George first worked together in 2003, remixing Highland’s “No Way Out” for Dave Seaman’s Audio Therapy label. The track featured on several mix compilations including Tayo’s Y4K. After an 11 year hiatus, the pair got together again & started working on new music & making a sound of their own. Along the way they’ve remixed the likes of Daughter, Booka Shade, Timo Maas & Editors & they’re now working on new music for their Personal Theatre label.
