Biography

Doug Crawford

Doug Crawford’s journey into music began with wind instruments and concert halls, but it eventually led him to the dancefloor. His roots trace back to childhood, where he honed his craft playing euphonium and percussion through school wind band programs.

His passion for performance took him across the country as he competed in Drum Corps International events, laying a disciplined and musical foundation that would later influence his electronic productions. After high school, Doug enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a baritone bugler with “The Commandant’s Own Drum and Bugle Corps”, based in Washington, D.C. It was there, during weekend visits to the iconic Buzz events at Nation nightclub, that he discovered electronic music.

Exposed to legendary sets from Sasha & Digweed, Carl Cox, Sandra Collins, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, and more, Doug was hooked—and a new musical path emerged. Inspired by the deep, driving rhythms of progressive house, Doug began DJing and producing.

After completing his enlistment, he returned to school to finish a degree in Music Education and started a family—putting his DJ career on hold, but never letting go of his passion for the music. Years later, Doug re-emerged onto the scene, earning a finalist spot in the Super Progressive / Progressive House Classics Breeder Remix Contest with his standout take on “Tyrantanic.”

Since then, he’s released original tracks and remixes on numerous respected underground labels. Now a resident DJ on MixPub Radio, Doug continues to deliver deep, hypnotic sets rooted in emotion and groove.

With a unique background that blends classical discipline with underground energy, Doug Crawford brings both musicality and authenticity to the decks—earning him a growing reputation in the global progressive house community.
